We are in a period of transition as a church and the need is for us to be coming together in prayer for our community, our church mission and ministry, and the way forward for us as a church.
The period between the resurrection of Jesus and the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost was a massively challenging time of transition for the early church, too! They very quickly moved from being fearful, locked away, wondering what would become of them, through to being transformed by the promise held in the risen Christ, and the anticipation that he would send ‘the Helper’ – the Holy Spirit.
The ‘Fifty Days’ booklet, which can be downloaded here, will give prompts for intercessory prayer topics each day, along with a passage of scripture to reflect on each week. Our social media feeds (Facebook and Twitter) will also carry the prompt for prayer each day.
In addition, we have the following opportunities to gather for corporate prayer:
Church at Six
This service will be given over to opportunities for worship and prayer for individuals, the church and our community on these dates especially:

Opportunity to engage in prayer for our town and for discernment about our mission and outreach:

Saturday 19th May – Sele Farm estate
Saturday 23rd June – Bengeo
Wednesday Morning Prayer – 9.30am – 10.15am
In the Chamber’s Street lounge, an opportunity for more ‘structured’ prayer using ‘Morning Prayer’ from the Northumbria Community, which will hopefully be good for those who may find a more reflective approach to prayer helpful.
