1 Corinthians 7-16 – Freedom to live by
The Corinthian church had seen that their new Christian lives gave them great freedom over how they should live but were using that freedom out of their own self-interest rather than with love and consideration for others. They had a strong interest in developing their individual spirituality but at the cost of their collective worship. Paul writes to respond to a number of issues that he has heard about through friends from that church and in a letter they had written to him. As we go through the second half of this letter we will build on our study of the first half of the letter last year and see how Paul recommends that they use their freedom to live responsibly and how that should affect us as Christians today.
