On Sunday 24th September, this stunning display greeted us for our harvest celebration. Each harvest we give thanks for all that God has provided for us and hear the challenge of how we can use those gifts well.
We watched a video detailing some of the work carried out by the Baptist Missionary Society amongst Thailand’s disabled children to enable them to fulfil the potential they have as those wonderfully made by God. We heard the challenge to share financially with them.
We also shared practical gifts that will be distributed to the Hertford Food Bank and Herts Young Homeless charity.
Of course it is not just money and food that we can share out of the harvest. We also have a part to play in bringing in God’s harvest. Each one of us can share the faith that God has given us with those whose greatest need is to meet with God through Jesus Christ.
It is not always easy, as it wasn’t easy for Jesus to share with the woman at the Samaritan well in John 4, but we need to recognise that the fields are ripe for harvest if we can just see it.
