We are spending time, over an extended period, to consider our criteria for becoming a Member of Hertford Baptist Church.   A key part of this is to examine the present link between Believers’ Baptism and Membership.

The main first major input to these discussions was Steve Fenton’s sermon on the morning of Sunday 14 February..  This sermon is available amongst the usual sermon audio files on this web site, but for convenience, the direct links are here:

Open or Closed Membership, a discussion paper by Andrew Rollinson, Ministry Adviser at the Baptist Union of Scotland, was also made available after Steve’s sermon.  You may read or print a copy here . . .

There was a Meeting for all members of the fellowship on Tuesday 2 March 2010.  This was an open forum to hear from one another and discuss in small groups questions concerning qualification for membership.
