The Parenting Children Course is open to all prospective parents, parents, grandparents and carers for children aged 0 to 10.
Each session will begin with coffee and cake before settling to watch the teaching element, including interviews and perspectives from children and their parents, on a DVD presentation. After this half hour presentation, there will be chance to fill up the cups again before going into some discussion groups to talk together with other parents on what we’ve just heard.
Andrew, a parent of three children, aged 15, 12, and 5, who completed the course a couple of years ago says ‘the course did two things for me: firstly, it reassured me that I wasn’t doing too bad a job and that I wasn’t alone in some of the things I found challenging. Secondly, it gave me lots of practical pointers and insights into things that I could start doing differently for the sake of my kids and my own sanity!’
There are no experts present…just other parents learning from each other, guided by the DVD material, and working out what to do for the best in our parenting.
