Daniel’s Prayer Daniel 9
Daniel 9 contains one of the greatest prayers in Scripture (vs. 4-19). And it is whilst Daniel is praying that God’s messenger, Gabriel, conveys to him (v21ff) in rather cryptic language, that God is in control and at the appropriate moment in history will intervene decisively to usher in a new era of forgiveness, justice, righteousness and an end to evil.
6.30 pm Steve Fenton leading the Communion Service; David Collett preaching
When the Spiritual affects the Physical Joshua 6-21
When the Israelites came to the stronghold of Jericho they faced a barrier which could not be defeated by force alone; it required God’s intervention. But in His grace God used the opportunity to show His people that working with God they could achieve the unachievable through praise, worship and action. What was true then is true today and we can be confident that what happens in the Spiritual realm can and does affect the physical.

Abraham’s Temptation Genesis 2:1-18
We live in a Western culture that is shaped by consumerism, financial imperatives and the pursuit of pleasure. Some Christians now believe that these are valid lifestyle objectives and that God will shower only good things on those who truly love Him. Tempting or true?

Daniel’s vision of a man Daniel 10
During some difficult days Daniel committed himself to three weeks of prayer and fasting, when he saw an extraordinary vision of a man. The figure spoke to reassure him that his prayers had been answered and to impart strength and hope for the future. It is an encouragement to us to seriously seek the Lord and His strength to stand in difficult days.
6.30 pm – Service of Believers’ Baptism.
A journey to faith Acts 8:26-38
The man at the centre of this story was on a spiritual search but needed help. Philip drew alongside him to explain the significance of Scripture, resulting in the man being baptised – a reminder that we all need a little help on the journey of faith, the importance of coming to an informed decision, and the need to make an appropriate response.

Daniel’s final vision Daniel 11 & 12
Daniel chapters 10-12 describe Daniel’s final vision, and contain a vast sweep of future events. The primary message is that God is in control, however things appear. This passage is an inspiration to be faithful and to persevere in times of struggle and doubt - the very qualities Daniel portrays throughout this book. Now and again we need an eternal perspective on our journey of faith - these final chapters provide it.
