Passing it on 1 Thessalonians 1: 1-10
The apostle Paul encourages the new believers in Thessalonica, reminding them that the Gospel came to them with power, conviction and the Holy Spirit; it impacted them radically, turning their lives around completely; they passed it on enthusiastically becoming the talk of the whole region. Receive the message; let it change you radically; pass it on enthusiastically - you cannot get a better model for any local church
6.30 pm – Sheila Knowles leading; Steve Fenton preaching and leading Communion
Abraham - courage Genesis 22: 1-14
Abram (later Abraham) was settled in Ur when God called him to a journey of faith. En-route God tested Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice what was nearest and dearest to him – his only son. Stepping into the unknown, making sacrifices, trusting God when it doesn’t make sense, requires great courage but comes with the territory for true followers of Jesus.

The Reason for Everything Romans 11
The ultimate goal of the universe is to show God’s glory. Everything comes from God alone. Everything lives by His power and for His glory.
What is the glory of God?
Where is the glory of God?
How can I bring glory to God?
Sunday 21 September

Steve Fenton preaching.
God goes public Psalm 19
Harvest is a time when we reflect on God’s natural provision through Creation (vs. 1-6). But Psalm 19 moves us on to focus on Revelation - the provision of God’s Word (vs. 7-11), and the Incarnation, God’s provision of a Saviour (v. 14) - “O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.” From creation, to revelation, to salvation - all the signposts are there for us to discover a personal encounter with God.
6.30 pm – Harvest Praise led by Steve Fenton and Derek Jones,
Minister at Hertford United Reformed Church, preaching.
Come, ye thankful people, come Matthew 13:24-43
Harvest is a time for celebration, giving thanks to God for the successful conclusion of a process. Sowing, nurturing and reaping leads to a bountiful harvest. Judgement too comes at the end of a process, but will we be numbered as part of God’s harvest?
Sunday 28 September
9.15 & 11.00 am – David Collett leading, Steve Fenton preaching
Growing Pains 1 Thessalonians 2:17 - 3:13
Paul’s deep affection for the new believers at Thessalonica continues to shine through. He is overjoyed to learn that they are standing firm and growing in their faith despite his absence and their difficult circumstances. Their experience is an education and inspiration to us as we are reminded how faith is opposed, how faith grows, and how mutual love and encouragement is a powerful force in overcoming our trials and difficulties.
6.30 pm – Jenny Evans leading, Steve Fenton preaching.
Moses – Overcoming Doubt Exodus 2:11-25
As we continue our series on Christian character we come to Moses. In his early days Moses confidently stepped out in faith but, following a major disappointment, spent his middle years on the sidelines. Little by little God restored Moses’ confidence and enabled him to overcome doubt to become one of the world’s greatest leaders. Moses’ story provides a healthy under-standing of the place of doubt in the life of the believer.
