Don't lose your head! (1 Corinthians 11:2-16)

We live in a world of diminishing distinctions between men and women in terms of work, roles in society and even in aspects of gender identity. When we come to a passage like this one, with its history of use in keeping women in submission, it can raise strong feelings. How do we read this passage well? How do we make sense of its teaching in a different time and culture? What does God want to say to us today about what it means to be a man or a woman in the 21st Century?
